Our Initiatives
Tomillah works to integrate Meso-American cultural knowledge into New Mexico’s classrooms and community spaces. Through partnerships with educators and local organizations, our initiatives support literacy, math, and science learning that honors the historical and contemporary contributions of Meso-American peoples. From curriculum development to outdoor experiences, we aim to root education in cultural understanding and local relevance.
Academics
We believe that learning should reflect who we are and where we come from. Our academic work supports students and educators by weaving Meso-American knowledge systems into literacy, math, and science—both in the classroom and out on the land.
Food Access &
Food Sovereignty
Food is medicine, memory, and movement. Through growing, sharing, and learning about traditional foods, we’re reconnecting with ancestral practices and building pathways for community health, nourishment, and sovereignty.

Language & Culture
Our words carry our spirit. Through language revitalization, storytelling, and cultural practice, we honor the teachings of our ancestors and keep them alive for future generations. This work is about remembering who we are and living that truth every day.
